We recruited caregivers of children with rare neurogenetic conditions to participate in Project WellCAST, a NIH-funded study that aims to promote caregiver well-being through interventions, resources, and peer support. All research activities were completed via telehealth. This project is completed and no longer enrolling participants. Thank you to all who participated!

As part of the larger PANDABox project, the Baby Sibling Extension consisted of families of 3-30 month old infants and toddlers with an older sibling diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Similar to the PANDAbox parent study, all research activities were completed from home and included a series of online forms, a day-long recording of the child’s vocalizations, and a telehealth-based session in which a researcher would interact with the parent and their child in real time. This project is completed and no longer enrolling participants. Thank you to all who participated!
The Brain and Behavior Study (BABS)
Consisted of individuals with the FMR1 premutation to participate in a study looking at brain activity. Participation was completed through both in-person and web-based assessments, and participants are provided monetary compensation for their time and travels (participants must have been driving distance to Purdue). This project is completed and no longer enrolling participants. Thank you to all who participated!
The Language Environment Analysis Project (LEAP)

Children use many different types of sounds and words in early development. These early vocalizations often give a glimpse into later language and developmental skills. LEAP explored how early vocalization features in 3- and 4-year-olds with Down syndrome, Angelman syndrome, and fragile X syndrome are related to language and social communication skills among children who are at an increased likelihood for delays in these areas. The Infant Development Study was a local project looking at how infants and their families grow and change over time. Families involved in this longitudinal study participated for three years, and research activities included online surveys, activities in our lab, and research activities at home. Big Ideas Challenge - POcKIT
|
Dr. Kelleher led an interdisciplinary team of 35+ Purdue faculty to develop novel methods for bringing personalized health to autism. The team worked together to develop a novel home-based assay system, the Purdue Omnityping Kit for Individualized Treatment (POcKIT), to improve assessment and treatment of children with a high likelihood of autism.
